The Palace
on Wheels takes you on a vibrating journey to the
royal land of sand dunes and regal palaces. This is a
7-night journey through Rajasthan to explore this
imperial land on the luxurious train. Discover the
royal history of Taj Mahal, one of the modern wonders
of the world. Each saloon has a personal
attendant and attached bathroom with running hot and
cold water. The train has 2 multi cuisine dining cars,
well appointed lounge, library and bar. It has been
rated one of the ten best luxurious train journeys in
the world.

The name "Palace-on-Wheels" (POW) was derived from its
royal back-ground of the coaches. A new air
conditioned meter gauge Palace-on-Wheels Train was
introduced in 1990 with sharing toilets had 13
Saloons, 2 Restaurant cum Kitchen car, one Bar cum
Lounge and 4 Service Cars. In order to further
increase the amenities on the train and Due to
conversion of tracks to broad gauge in Rajasthan , the
present 14 Passenger Saloon train was introduced with
A/C cabins attached toilets in 1995 & offers Royal
comforts with modern amenities personalised service.
In the past 20 years of operations, the
Palace-on-Wheels has been rated as one of the best ten
luxurious rail journeys in the world.
Day 1 Delhi
Arrive Delhi. Meet and
assist upon arrival and transfer to the Taj Palace
Hotel.
Day 2 Delhi
After a leisurely
morning visit the sights of New Delhi. In the
afternoon join the Palace on Wheels and our journey
starts. Dinner on board.
Day 3 Jaipur
Sightseeing of Jaipur,
famous as "The Pink City". Also visit Amber Fort;
ascend the Fort on an elephant. Lunch at a Palace
Hotel. Evening depart for Jaisalmer.
Day 4 Jaisalmer
Morning tour of the
city includes the impressive fort. Evening camel ride
and tea on the Sam Sand Dunes. Depart for Jodhpur.
Day 5 Samode to Jodhpur
Morning sightseeing of
Jodhpur, known for its rock solid Meharangarh Fort,
Jaswant Thada and group of Royal Cenotaphs made of
White marble. Evening depart for Swai Madhopur.
Day 6 Ranthambore
Arrive Swai Madhopur,
the staging post for Ranthamboree National Park. Visit
the park for game viewing. Later depart for
Chittaurgarh. Visit the fort, lauded in legends of
valor and chivalry.
Day 7
Udaipur
A day excursion by
coach to Udaipur, the city of palaces, lakes and
gardens. Sightseeing includes visit to the City Palace
complex. Return to Chittaurgarh. Evening depart for
Bharatpur.
Day 8 Bharatpur & Agra
Early morning visit
Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. Continue on to Agra to see
the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. En route visit Fatehpur
Sikri. Evening depart for Delhi. Dinner on board.
Day 9 Delhi
Breakfast on board. The
journey ends and you step back from fantasy to
reality. Transfer to the Taj Palace Hotel.
Day 10 Depart Delhi
Transfer to the airport
for your flight home.
Meal
